Experience
I attended Harvard University, where I earned my B.A. in Engineering Sciences, with a focus on Applied Mechanics. I also attended Boston University, where I earned my Master of Science in Mechanical Engineering. Since then, I've taught a variety of classes in a number of U.S. cities and states, including Boston, Atlanta, and Texas. I have taught students from the kindergarten to high school level in introductory and advanced mathematics and sciences. Additionally, I've taught multiple levels of Geometry, Algebra, and Calculus, as well as SAT prep in math. I've also taught introductory and advanced science classes in Biology, Chemistry, and Physics.I believe that teachers must appreciate a student's identity and cultural background when developing their educational philosophy and practices. Each student's individuality should be recognized and stimulated, helping to shape their distinct contributions to a globalized American society. I most enjoy teaching mathematics to high school students because it is important for students to develop in-depth skills of analysis and inquiry. Courses like Algebra, Trigonometry, and Calculus cause students to think critically, raise questions, and problem-solve. Skills like these are not only useful in mathematical study, but they are also necessary life tools. During my free time, I like to read, play chess, and stay fit through exercise (running, jump rope, and soccer).
